Kathina refers to the offering of a special robe (Kathina Civara) to a monk who have completed the three-month period of retreat called Vassana in Pali ( rainning season ). Kathina literally means ( Firm or Solid ), because the offering of a Kathina robe helps to earn solid good kamma. The Kathina Ceremony is over 2500 years old, and it is a monastic tradition preserved and observed by Buddhists all over the world because it is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire merit once a year. The Buddha himself highlighted Kathina as one of the most highly venerated and meritorious deeds that can be performed by the devotee who can enjoy longevity, happiness, good health and complexion, and wisdom in this life and hereafter.每年自阳历七月十五日至十月十五日僧伽們都聚會一處來遵守雨季安居的修行。當三個月的雨季安居修行結束，僧团舉行卡提那(供袈裟)儀式並接受信徒們供養。通過此殊勝的儀式，能幫助維護僧伽與信徒們之間的因緣與福德。在家居士不但能盡護法及安僧办道的義務，僧伽們也能安心精進修持.借此雨季安居之供修希望僧伽们可以证得正果，更希望他们把佛法宏传给大家，教导和指引大家趨向正法，让大家受益，也让大家可以向善，凝造一个安祥的社会，同时也可以激发起我们想要学习佛法的心，这样佛法才可以长住世间，对我们来说这才是最真诚的供养。
We would like to invite all devotees to come for the Kathina ceremony. You have the opportunities to offer robes and other requisites to the Sangha during the event. May all the donors of the Kathina robes and devotees be well and happy! May they attain Nibbana!
